Tyreek Hill Predicts Travis Hunter Will Be ‘Ass’ in the NFL
Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill has certainly made some headlines this offseason. And his latest remarks on No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter will add to that growing collection.
While hanging out with popular streamers Adin Ross and N3on, Hill was asked what he thinks about Hunter.
“He’s gonna be ass,” Hill replied.
It’s unclear if he was joking—it certainly didn’t seem like it. The answer came out way too fast. But later in the stream, the 31-year-old speedster clarified that he thinks Hunter will be a “dawg” and a great player in the NFL.
There has been plenty of skepticism surrounding Hunter. Online conspiracy theorists are convinced his new wife has cheated on him. There are many doubters, potentially including Hill, about his ability to play both sides of the football in the NFL like he did during his college career at Jackson State and Colorado.
Most recently, a few of Hunter’s routes have gone viral on social media for being … rough.
Hunter quite literally won the Heisman Trophy last season because of his heroic efforts at receiver and cornerback. He was a big reason the Buffaloes were able to turn things around under Deion Sanders. In two seasons at Colorado, Hunter recorded just under 2,000 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns—far from “ass.”
Maybe Hill was just trolling and genuinely joking. But if he wasn’t, he’s probably basing his take off a few ugly routes on a grainy social media video from one of Hunter’s first NFL practices ever. That feels unfair.
Despite both teams playing in Florida, the Dolphins and the Jaguars are in different divisions. So Hill’s jab at Hunter was certainly unprompted. Sadly, the two teams do not play each other this season. It would have been fun to see Hill run routes against Hunter at defensive back—assuming Jacksonville will let him try out both positions as a rookie.
The Jaguars traded quite the haul to jump up three slots in the 2025 NFL Draft to select him. Their first-round pick in 2026 belongs to the Cleveland Browns because of Hunter, and they also traded the No. 36 overall pick, which turned out to be Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins.
More than anybody else, new Jaguars general manager James Gladstone will be hoping that Hill’s prediction is dead wrong. If the Jaguars struggle and Hunter flops, they won’t even have a first-round selection next year to rectify it.
